Developmental Play:
This week Foundation A have been enjoying lots of developmental play session and getting to know one another. They are a social bunch who love to be creative. At the start of the play sessions, a goal is formed with student input. Students were read a book about being kind and including others and decided this was a great goal for the above play session!
Maggie has done an excellent job listening to instructions here, as well as doing her best work! She must have really been using her ‘Whole Body Listening’ skills! Nice work Maggie!
We are having so much fun in Foundation B! Our most enjoyable time this week has been having our 'developmental play’ or as we call it ‘Explore Time’. This is where students get to play with a variety of games and activities around the room, working on socialising, team work, fine motor skills and of course having FUN! It has been so lovely to see the children already making new friendships.
On Tuesday we did an activity called ‘Mini me’ Josh did a wonderful job of drawing his mini me with his favourite sports clothes! Before doing this activity we read a lovely booked called ‘Our class is a family’ we spoke about how we will be spending a lot of time together at school and we are like a family in Foundation B. We brainstormed all the ways we can help and look after each other and understand that we are all different in many ways, this lead into our Mini Me activity! We will make these into a class display!
Foundation C are a bubbly and enthusiastic class who are settling in to Monty life beautifully!
We have been learning all about Whole Body Listening and what that can look like during instruction time as well as creating our own ‘Mini Me’ people that you will soon see at our line up spots.
Lila C has done a wonderful job with her whole body listening task.
Clark G did a fantastic job of creating his Mini Me.
