5/6 T

I am so impressed with how well 5/6T has settled into the year.

I am very excited to be back into the swing of things!

MATHS

We have been learning that the place of a digit determines its value. The students have enjoyed playing games and engaging in small group work.

LITERACY

We have been working on engaging the reader with sizzling starts. The students have been practicing how to use different techniques to begin their stories.

Here are some examples of how the students have used humour, change, intrigue, dialogue and action to capture their readers' attention.

Molly

CRASH goes the robber as he fell into the pool. BANG, he hits his head on the edge of the pool, he starts to feel nauseous as he opens his eyes. He can see no one but can hear quiet voices in the distance. What has happened to him?

Micah

The robber opened the door but slipped on a dogs toy. He must of knocked himself out because he woke up in a jail cell. He could hear the policeman voice but he wasn't talking...

Rosie

As the teenager boy climbs up the balcony he can start to hear something coming closer and closer. Then SNAP the tree falls "AAAAH" the teenager screams.

Liam

The fierce, snowy wind knocked the trees over. There are cars flying around and the police are trapped inside the police station.

Milan

"Welcome back to nine news. We have received devastating news. The police have found a body that belongs to a middle aged man on the park swings."

Student Representative Council

The students all voted for the person who they think has the qualities to represent us in our classroom.  After tallying the votes, we are proud to announce that Liam C has been chosen for 2022 SRC in 5/6T.

Well done Liam!!
