Mathematics Improvement Project

As a natural part of our learning in Mathematics, classes create a Maths Wall. This space is co-constructed between the teachers and students. The aim is that the wall acts as a ‘third teacher’, which is the ‘learning space and how that learning space is designed to support the students in the classroom’ (Lynn Sharratt). The wall is always accessible to the students. It includes the ‘Learning Intention’ and ‘Success Criteria’ and it only ever contains information about the current learning. It may also contain language, ‘bulletproof definitions’, modelled examples and student work samples. Below are some ‘Maths Walls’ that are currently in our learning spaces.
