Heatherton Creates

Thank you to the students and staff who participated in 'Heatherton Creates' Arts Week this week. The standard of all performances was excellent from the daily assemblies through to the Spring Concert and the art show was beautiful. Everyone’s efforts have been much appreciated by the College community and beyond. Well done!

Concert Reviews by the Concert Participants

Alesha Maxwell-Jabour

7A - Saxophone

I would say that the concert was amazing! Lots of families and friends came together to celebrate the Heatherton Christian College’s artwork and music. I think I played my instrument very well. I practiced and did my best and it turned out that I could play the music I was reading without forgetting. I enjoyed the School and Senior Bands the most. Everyone in those bands were very determined and did their very best. I think that maybe I should have practiced more to get rid of the squeaking sounds that I made.  I thought everyone did a very good job and the music and artwork shown and that I heard was very inspirational. Thank you Mrs Sim for making this concert so successful and giving your time during lunchtimes. Thank you as well to the College to help us students get better at something that potentially could help us in the future.

7B – Clarinet & Flute

As soon as you entered the auditorium you were wrapped in creativity.  We really enjoyed the clarinet ensemble as the pieces were fun.  We especially liked Kiara trying to say ‘Eine Kline Nachtmusik’ which was one of our pieces.  Music has been very beneficial to us as it has taught us to be creative, resilient and has even taught us a lot about maths.

Olivia Mazzini

7A – Saxophone

At the Spring Concert on 31 October at Heatherton Christion College, I enjoyed playing in the Junior School Band.  I loved playing the song 'Junkyard Jam' because there was a part in it where we had to shout ‘hey!’ and Samantha Utley laughed at me every time.

I most enjoyed having a great partner (Samantha) to help me play the pieces.

Nicholas Taylor-Smith

7A – Trombone

On 31 October, we had the Spring Concert. I was in was the Year 7 Concert Band and played 3 songs. 'Rock Point 5', 'Star Wars' and 'Warp Speed'.  On the night, I was able to reach some notes that I wouldn’t normally be able too. The thing that I enjoyed the most was 'Junkyard Jam' which was performed by the School Band.
