VCE in Remote Learning

Hey RSC Community,

Its Kate and Callum here, we just wanted to make a little video to say hi and give a little bit of insight into the successes, the distractions and the procrastinations of completing VCE in remote learning. We hope you’re all doing well and enjoy the video.

'My ISO Foodie Adventure’ Years 8 – 11’s

Our students have been busy participating in their Cooking at home tasks for Food Studies.  We’ve had great success and many students producing (what looks like) delicious meals and food!  Some parents are enjoying having the night off cooking or the extra help.

Indonesian Students and Remote Learning

Year 8 Indonesian students are competing against each other during this remote learning period by using the Education Perfect platform.

They are encouraged to connect in with this competition regularly throughout the term.

There will be prizes for the best overall class as well as prizes for Gold, Bronze and Silver individual student winners. These will be awarded when we return back to school.

Here are the results so far, congratulations to 8H who are currently in the lead!

Positives out of These Times

I asked Girls from the Year 7 and 8 Lunch time group, amongst all the things that arent so great about this time, what are some of the positives,  and this is some of their answers

  • I play video games and play with my dog
  • I’ve got some time to relax
  • I’ve got into a new tv series I like a lot
  •  I’ve been calling a lot of my friends and spending time with family
  •  i get the time to work on self love and self care
  •  I get to spend time with my family 🙂
  • Me and my sister get to spend more time with each other (annoying each other)
  • I go for walks and people are friendly
  • I’ve been starting to get into working out more which I’ve found really fun

ANZAC Driveway Dawn Service

On ANZAC day my family and I woke early and stood on our driveway to reflect on the sacrifices Australian and New Zealanders endured. We listened to the last post on the radio and kept warm in front of a fire, with candles lighting up the dawn as well. I could hear the last post echoing around our neighbourhood, as others around the community joined in the driveway dawn service to make up for the commemorations lost in these times.

Stay safe everyone and a big thank you to the hard work all the teachers have put into the transition to online school.

Remote Year 9 Photography

Remote Year 9 Photography has  given students a chance to turn their immediate surroundings into art. We have been focusing on lighting and how it can effect or enhance a subject. The following are a few standout photographs from our creative year 9 students. I hope our RSC community is staying creative! Set yourself a photo a day challenge to keep you creative brain engaged.
