Visual and Performing Arts Update

Term 3 is done and dusted which means the end is near for our Year 12 students. Both the year 11 and year 12 students have been working to complete their SACs and folios.

The VCD, Studio Arts and Arts students have all worked to develop their concepts, build their skills and complete their folios. Staff and students alike have worked tirelessly on composing the perfect folio, printing and constructing their final products and completing their evaluations. Congratulations to all the students who have completed their products or will be completing these in the following weeks. It is great to see the hours of hard work paying off. A massive thank you to Cinzia Stojkovich and Marli van der Merwe for their support of our students in this endeavour.

The media students have also been working tirelessly this year and their final products are coming to fruition. With folios, films and finished products to show for their hard work, the year 12 students can now start preparing for their exams. Year 11s are also wrapping up their year. Congratulations to all the students for the work they have produced. The images, print media and films presented this year were of a fantastic standard, many of which that were on show at the Annual Film Night on September 17th in the Crate. This is always a great night and this year was no exception. Thanks to all the students and staff for the hard work in organising this.

The performing arts are also going strong. Students are working to finalise their final performances for the year. The year 1 dance students are gearing up for their showcase night in the Crate in the first week back from the holidays. The theatre studies students are following up their semester 1 success of Daisy Pulls It Off with their monologue preparations. It is great to see the high quality work, hours of rehearsal and comprehensive planning going into this.

The music students have also had a busy term.  The year 1 music students have performed twice in the Crate theatre and also in Quatrefoils restaurant this term, all receiving great reviews. It is lovely to see the students finding their musical voices. The Year 2 music students have wrapped up their SAC performances for the year and are now focusing on their exams. Students are spending hours rehearsing, crafting the perfect script and designing the perfect setting for their VCAA exams. This will be on show on Monday October 15th at 7pm in the Crate, when the Class of 2018 preview their exams and perform together for the final time.

We would like to thank the following students for their performances this term:
