Economics Excursion
The year 11 Economics class is currently studying equality and equity within Australia. To further their understanding, the class attended two lectures in Melbourne last Wednesday. The students attended a lecture at Swinburne University, Hawthorn presented by Associate Professor Wendy Stone and Professor Terry Burke. Wendy is a researcher and lecturer working at Swinburne University and Terry works with the University of Melbourne and Swinburne University. Students were presented with information about housing inequality and recent trends in housing and urban change.
Later in the afternoon, students attended a lecture in Essendon by RBA Victorian economist Tom Rosewall. Tom discussed the role of the Reserve Bank of Australia and looked at current trends in the economy.
