Swapping Stories

The Macmillan Dictionary says

‘if people swap stories, they tell each other about things that have happened to them, [they]

tell a story in speech or writing’.

How often are you a storyteller, telling someone about what happened to you or where you have been recently? If you go on a holiday, maybe experience a different culture, do you show friends your pictures and tell them about them? Perhaps, you even create a photobook, to record your experiences, to make it easier to talk about your trip.

An author sometimes likes to tell his/her story, to say what happened, in writing. When someone reads the story, and can relate to it, then, in effect, a relationship develops and a story is ‘swapped‘.
