With the end of the school year rapidly approaching, you might be wondering how you can keep yourself entertained over the holidays. Whitehorse Council are running a number of different school holiday programs for families and young people. Join the Whitehorse Youth Team for the Victorian Youth Parliament.
Youth Parliament is an annual residential program run by the Y that draws together 20 teams from across Victoria to advocate for issues that matter to them. Across the span of 5 months, participants will learn about the Victorian legislative system, develop advocacy and community leadership skills, and create and debate their own proposed legislation (Bill) on an issue that they are passionate about.
👉 Young people aged 16-25 who live, work, study or play in the City of Whitehorse
✔ You should join if you want to:
• Connect and make friends with other young people in your community and across the state of Victoria
• Tell the state government what you, as a young person, want to change in Victoria to address issues that you’re passionate about
• Gain experience in a career path of law, politics, policy-making, or advocacy
• Develop professional skills like leadership, teamwork, public speaking, and networking
• Develop personal skills like confidence, community awareness, critical-thinking and resilience
• Have a fun time at camp, engaging in recreational activities and just letting loose!
