Year 9 Urban Art

Today was Damian's last day as he completed the project with Visual arts Teacher, Georgina Russell and her Year 9 Urban Art class.

As you can read by the messages on the card that the students presented to Damian, they all gained more than what they expected and were very appreciative about being involved in this experience with an artist.

In our Year 9 urban art class this semester, Damian Curtain, a wood artist sculpturist, provided us with the opportunity to learn and create wooden sculptures. From this opportunity, five wooden sculptures were created and incorporated through the theme of nature embedded. The wooden sculptures constructed after the idea process was completed and wooden bollards were carved with a chisel and mallet. They were refined after the process of getting the sculpture into its shape/form. The whole process of building these wooden sculptures was a great learning experience and we appreciate Damian coming in to teach us how to properly use the equipment and teaching us the process from start to finish of generating wooden sculptures. It was a fun and unique experience and we hope that the school enjoys our creation.

Year 11 Visual Communication

Year 11 Visual Communication Students completed a group task to assist in their learning for Outcome 2 - Type and Imagery in Context. Students worked in a group and were designated roles to brainstorm style guides and different concepts. Students adhered to the same style guide to make their magazine look like a cohesive collection.

Congratulations to all of our Year 11 Vis Com students, you have worked so hard and diligently throughout the year and learnt a massive amount of new skills and knowledge from design concepts to technical drawings and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. We are all looking forward to seeing you showcase your skills and ideas for Year 12 Vis Com in 2023!
