After a promising start from Australia, France took the victory 4-1. What a great event at CJC! Massive thanks you to our School Council, our Parents Committee, the EFM, and the CJC team for organising, and to Gary Peer (coffee van) and SBS (goodies) for their sponsorship!
Après un départ prometteur pour l’Australie, c’est la France qui a réclamé la victoire 4-1. Cet évènement fut un succès fulgurant ! Un grand merci à notre comité de gestion d’école, au comité de parents d’élèves, à l’EFM et à l’équipe de CJC pour l’organisation, et à Gary Peer (coffee van) et SBS Australie (cadeaux) pour la commandite !

"I arrived at 6:00am on the dot. In the first half it was 1:1. In the second half France scored three more goals. At half time we did a soccer match on the oval, then we did a juggle-off. There was a coffee truck and pain au chocolat. At the end of the game it was 4:1 for France."
André
"My highlight was when Giraud scored TWO goals and France won four to one. The disappointment for me was Mbappe had a chance to score and absolutely missed. The game was to celebrate our two countries and our languages at CJC."

"It was the Qatar World Cup first match Australian vs France. We raised money for CJC with a gold coin donation. There were a lot of players who weren’t playing, like Kante and more. The first goal was Goodwin for Australia. Then it was Rabiot for France. Then they scored another – it was Giroud for France. What a game! In the second half France were on FIRE! Mbappe scored, then it was Giroud for his double. He was really looking forward to scoring a goal. He almost scored a bicycle kick! France won the game 4-1. It was still an awesome game!"

"The highlight of the game was Giroud scoring two goals, Rabiot scoring one goal, and Mbappe scoring a goal for France. Goodwin scored for Australia. My favourite moment was when we played soccer, and my disappointment was when I had to go home to get ready for school."

"As soon as me, my brother and my mum arrived, Australia scored. We were watching the Australia vs France football match of the 2022 World Cup. I was supporting France. Lots of my friends were there. We watched the first half and France scored two goals. At half time, there was a juggling competition to win a World Cup 2022 ball. I participated and was the first girl to step up. I juggled the ball three times. Then I went outside to play a game of soccer. Then the second half started and Mbappe scored two goals. There was face paint and free stuff there – I got a keyring and a pen. I also had a pain au chocolat. France won 4-1."

"I was disappointed that Kilyan Mbappe missed loads of shots and same thing for Antoine Griezman. The second disappointing thing was being first in line to miss getting a pain au chocolat. In the first half Goodwin (AUS) scored, then Rabiot (FRA) scored. In the second half, Giroud scored, then Mbappe, then Giroud in the last ten minutes."

"On Wednesday 23rd November, I got to school at 7:00am to watch France vs Australia live. I was going for Australia but the scores were Australia 1 and France 4. Australia scored the only goal in the first half and I wasn’t there because it was too early, so I missed it. But the highlights were that they were selling pain au chocolat. Since I arrived later, they were almost out. Luckily I brought my own mini pain au chocolat, and the other highlight was I had one hour to play after the match."
