Selamat Siang Semuanya,
Week 6 in the Visual Arts Room was very exciting as we secured our newly painted Art Room stools! Terima Kasih to Stephan for securing our Art Stools - they are ready to be used and the Visual Arts Room is looking even brighter! We have been so impressed by student's creativity and perseverance as they painted their designs onto the stools as well as the leadership demonstrated by the Visual Arts leaders who have assisted their peers with the preparation and painting throughout this process. Well done everyone!
In Foundation, students have been exploring tracing using stencils and objects from around the room! We traced different shaped circles and stencils to create some shapes in our water colour art. Students demonstrated teamwork when sharing tracing materials and creativity when choosing their designs and water colours!
Some of our 1/2 students worked together in a challenge to create a Remembrance Day inspired wreath using recycled materials such as cardboard and scrap paper. Many students incorporated red poppies into their designs. Well done 1/2s!
Meanwhile, in the Senior school our Year 3/4 students have continued their exploration of cubism and abstract Art through our Picasso Unit. This week, students up-leveled their self-portrait art , incorporating some Picasso inspired facial features. These art works are looking incredible! The 5/6 students added their finishing touches to their Kitchen-Garden inspired paper mache models this week. From cutlery, to potatoes, peas to apples - there is a huge variety of creations! Keep an eye out on Seesaw to see the 5/6s finished products!
My Art Quote to share for Week 7 is :
- "Art is not what you see, but what you make others see!" - Edgar Degas.
We all hope you have a fabulous week.
