Sun Smart Hats

Children will need to wear a hat during outdoor play when the UV rating is at 3 or above.

Please make sure your child brings a sun smart hat with them to OSHClub each day.

Hats can be kept in school bags or in our hat tub at OSHClub.

Holiday Program Care Bookings

The Holiday Program flyer is now being finalised. An email and flyer will be sent to enrolled families once online bookings are open. We will be running two full day programs on Wed December 21st and Thursday December 22nd. Operating hours are from 7:00am - 6:00 pm.

OSHClub will close for the year at 6pm on Dec 22nd and reopen on the 9th Jan - 30th Jan.

During the holiday program, children will need to bring a morning and afternoon snack, lunch, a bottle of water and a sun smart hat. We will have Coles brand sunscreen on hand, but children are also welcome to bring their own.

12th Jan: Splashtime Fun water incursion

13th Jan: Goanna Golf mini golf excursion

16th Jan: Funny Bones Magic Show incursion

19th Jan: Risky Kids Parkour, Freerun and Ninja Skills excursion

Brekky Bunch Cooking Club

Over the next several weeks we are running a breakfast cooking club during Before School Care! This extends upon children's ongoing interest in cooking breakfast. We will be introducing new breakfast options for children to try while also revisiting old favourites. We'd love to see more children getting involved! On the menu this week we have:

Tuesday: Mango muffins

Wednesday: Watermelon Spritz

Thursday: Potato Latkes

Making and Doing at OSHClub

The Brekky Bunch chefs were busy making fruit smoothie icy poles and wholemeal apple and cinnamon muffins last week. Our focus has been on making healthy, low sugar snacks that are full of fruit and delicious.

The warmer afternoons presented a good chance for some messy play. Children made a murky dinosaur swap and experimented with making their own dinosaur eggs.

We often play group games during the last 10-15 minutes of after school care. Last week Musical Chairs was voted by children as the game to play!

Enrolling Your Child

Please be careful to select Mount Pleasant Road OSHClub, not Mount Pleasant OSHClub, which is in WA. CRN numbers and date of birth must be entered correctly. If not, this will affect your eligibility for the Child Care Subsidy.

Once your enrolment is complete it will be forwarded to the service for review. Any questions, please feel free to contact us on the Mount Pleasant OSHClub program phone - 0427 144 945.

COVID Risk Management

The program will be run outdoors at much as possible.
Social distancing will be encouraged (we may make use of the Art Studio to facilitate this).
Children will be need to wash their hands when they arrive, as well as before eating. Children's handwashing will be supervised, and effective handwashing practices demonstrated as needed.
Afternoon tea will be eaten outdoors.
High touch surfaces will continue to be sanitised with a spray sanitiser and antibacterial wipes before and after each session.

An OSHClub staff member will continue to sign children in and out on the iPad until further notice.

The health and safety of all children in our care remains our top priority. We continue to follow all directives received from the Government to ensure best practice is adhered to in the management of COVID-19. Our COVID-19 Risk Assessment is updated regularly and in-line with government changes, and is available to view on request.

Cancellation of Bookings

IMPORTANT: If your child is booked in for an after school care session and that booking is no longer required, please cancel the booking on the iParent Portal. If you are cancelling on the day, please contact us on the program phone before 3:15pm.

We are responsible for all children booked into our care. If a child does not arrive to after school care when booked in to attend, we will need to confirm the whereabouts of the child by contacting parents/guardians and emergency contacts. If we cannot successfully do this, it then becomes a missing child incident and will need to be referred to police.

As you can imagine, this can be very stressful!

Online bookings for Before and After School Care sessions close 24 hours in advance.

Online bookings for the Holiday Program and Curriculum Days close 5 days in advance.
