Open Mic Performance

Congratulations to the BMGS Rock Band, Emily Monks (Year 10, Lead vocals and guitar), William Louis (Year 10, Vocals and lead guitar), Samuel Gander (Year 10, Vocals and bass) Jonathan McHugh (Year 10, Drums) and Finn Brinkman (Year 9, Rhythm guitar),  who performed at the Open Mic evening, at the Gardeners Inn, Blackheath on Sunday evening.

The Band quickly attracted a crowd with their high energy performances of ‘In the Summertime’ (Thirsty Merc), ‘Weir’ (Killing Heidi), ‘One of These Nights’ (Eagles), ‘Learn to Fly’ (Foo Fighters) and ‘Ohio’ (Kingswood).  Such was their engagement with the audience, that The Band left the stage with the audience demanding an encore!

Congratulations to all the students involved, to the Group’s Music Tutor, Mr Cameron Smith, who also organised the gig and transported all the equipment and, of course, to all our parents for their wonderful support in attending this fabulous concert.

Assembly Performance

Thank you to Orlando Holmes (Year 7) for his accomplished performance on the clarinet at Assembly this week. Orlando played Lefèvre’s Rondeau from Sonata No. 10, with piano accompaniment. This talented musician only joined BMGS this year, yet is playing clarinet in Senior Orchestra and Stage Band, whilst also studying the piano.
