Principal’s Message

Mrs Kath Baird

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Week 7. It is great to have everyone back on site this week after the flood interruptions of last week. It was fabulous to see many students on Zoom on Friday for our trivia challenge day.

This week will see the commencement of our Intensive Swimming program. Students in K-2 and invited guests from 3-6 will attend. Please ensure that your child brings all necessary equipment each day.

K/1 will be attending The Nutcracker at The Civic cinema in Gunnedah on Tuesday. Students are to bring a hat and water bottle for the park after the movie. We will be departing from school at approximately 9am and returning by 1pm.

Year 6 will have the opportunity to attend St Mary's College this Thursday for an Orientation Day. Students from SHS will be able to catch the Hopes bus from Laidlaw St at 7:35am and can be returned by bus at approximately 4:05pm. Students will need to pay a $5 bus fare for the day. This can be paid to the bus driver in the morning. I will meet our students at the bus stop at 7:35am.

On Thursday 8 December we will be holding our Annual Presentation Ceremony at Sacred Heart Church commencing at 11:30am. Afterwards we will be returning to school for light refreshments for families, visitors and students. We would appreciate it if families could bring a plate of food to share.

Advertising for our 2024 transition program will commence this term. If you know of anyone wishing to enrol their child for 2024 and participate in the transition program next year, please let me know. Program details and enrolment forms for next year's transition program are available by contacting Ms Traynor in the Office.

If you know of anyone who is intending to enrol at Sacred Heart either in Kindergarten or any other year group for 2023 , please encourage them to contact me at school.

Happy birthday to Ryley Bourke who celebrates his 10th birthday on Saturday 26th November. We hope you have a fantastic day.

Take care,

Kath Baird
