Barwon Junior Debating Grand Final

On Thursday 8th December, the Chilwell Debating Team took on Fyans Park Primary School in the Barwon Junior Debating Grand Final. The Chilwell team was represented by Evan Wuite, Georgia Marles, Minnie Lovejoy and Bella Tang.

It was an unseen topic, meaning the students had only 30 minutes to prepare (without technology). The topic was ‘Electric Scooters and bikes should be licensed’.

The students put in a tremendous effort and managed to win the coveted trophy by 2 points, with Evan Wuite picking up the best speaker.

Many thanks to the parents and staff who attended and to Phoebe Whitehead and James Ilievski for being the chairperson and timekeeper.

All the debating students, Will Li, Alice Kozulin, Mary-Claire Tallent, Evan Wuite, Georgia Marles, Minnie Lovejoy, Bella Tang, Phoebe Whitehead and James Ilievski are to be congratulated on their excellent effort and the development of their skills.

Thank you to our families who supported the Wonder Recycling program in Term 3.

This is Maksim and Harry from 3CE who are holding some sports equipment which we received as a prize for collecting soft plastics. These steps show that our kids are prepared to make changes to help the environment.
