Mr. Carlyle's Message

Hi Families,
Welcome to the final newsletter of the year!
Class Structure 2023
After yesterday’s Transition Day we finalised our class lists and structures for 2023;
A Junior Team of two Foundation-Year 1 classes and two Year 1-2 classes.
A Middle Team of a 2-3 class and two 3-4 classes.
A Senior team of one 4-5 class and two 5-6 classes.
Each year when managing enrolment numbers we need to develop a class structure that matches the needs of students across the school. This structure allows for a good spread of class numbers across the school and keeps classes working in collaborative teams which is a vital part of how our teachers work so successfully together.
Changes in 2023
While I am touching on structures for 2023, we were unable to successfully recruit for an Auslan teacher in 2023. Therefore we will be providing Japanese as our Language and culture option in 2023 and beyond.
Farewells
We wish the very best to Ms. Browne and Ms. Leonard who are leaving us at the end of this year. Thankyou for all your work with us here, and we wish you the very best in your new schools.
Welcomes
We welcome Ms. Muir to our Senior team and Mr. Murrell to our specialist team in the PE role.
Graduating Year 6 Students
Last Thursday we celebrated our graduating class for 2023. The message I shared with our departing students is. Dare to be great. You are the future; our leaders, innovators, scientists, artists, engineers and teachers. So, as you move on to high school, I hope that you challenge yourself, pursue past times that bring you joy, laugh, have fun, and prioritise the people that treat you well.
To all of you I hope for the very best in your collective journeys beyond Ballan PS, we are so very proud of you.
Happy Holidays
For many of the families whose, association with the school ends at the completion of this year. Thank you for allowing us to educate your child and be a part of their life’s journey, it was truly an honor.
To everyone in our school community, may you have a happy, relaxing, and joyful holiday season. Have fun building memories with one another and stay safe. See you in 2023.
Healthy Lunch Box Choices and Nude Food
Please help reduce waste in our school by packing 'Nude Food' (food without excess packaging) in your child's lunch box. The Healthy Lunch Box Pick & Mix posters below provide some good Nude Food options.
