Introducing Koonung Secondary College’s Alumni Program

You may well be aware that private schools and universities have well established alumni programs that provide enormous benefits to current students and to the alumni. The good news is that in Feb 2022, Koonung Secondary College launched an alumni program (Koonung graduates) with the help of Ourschool. Ourschool is a not-for-profit service that helps public high schools build a thriving alumni network to benefit current students and the school community.

Koonung has the potential to have a fantastic alumni program; with graduates dating back to the ‘Class of 1964’. We are eagerly wanting to tap into this incredible asset of graduates to discover what pathways they have taken since completing their schooling and to invite them to share this with Koonung’s current students. Alumni are inspirational, relatable role models for current students. 

The Alumni Program provides alumni with the following opportunties

• NETWORK - Connect with former Koonung students and kickstart careers!
• CONNECT - Stay connected to the school community in a meaningful way and be part of a growing network of Koonung alumni.
• MOTIVATE AND INSPIRE - Your post school experiences are invaluable intel and can inspire current students to think outside of the box.
• PARTICIPATE - Come back and share your experiences by participating in single subject classes or bigger career pathways sessions.

What’s coming up in Term One?

YR12 Assembly March 1st. We have a small panel of alumni from the Class of 22’ returning to provide our current YR12’s with some study tips and techniques. This will be invaluable advice.

Various alumni will be returning to talk to our Vocational Major students in YR11/12 and our Career Pathways students in YR10. We will keep you posted via the newsletter.
