Swimming Carnival 2023

Our 2023 Swimming Carnival is being held next Wednesday 8th February, 2023.It will be a daytime Swimming Carnival at South Tamworth Memorial Pool (Scully on Kent St) commencing at approximately 9:30am and finishing at approximately 2:00pm. 

The Swimming Carnival is part of our school sports program and ALL Primary aged children, along with Infants students who are turning 8 years old in 2023 and able to swim 50m confidently, are expected to be there. (Infants children should be turning 8 years old in 2023 and MUST be able to swim 50m).

All Primary children will travel to the carnival by bus and arrive at the pool at 9:15am under the supervision of teachers. At the conclusion of the carnival, all students will travel back to school for their regular means of transport home. Parents of Infants children who are attending the Carnival are asked to organise transport to and from the pool or alternatively to and from the primary school campus to allow 8 years old infants swimmers to be bussed with the Year 3 classes.

If your child is in Years 3-6 and cannot swim 50m, there are 25m events available. 

If your child is in Years 3-6 and cannot swim 25m, there will be non swimming events  available. 

Please note the St Ed’s School Canteen WILL ONLY be operating on Wednesday 8th February, 2023 for INFANTS ONLY.

On Wednesday 8th February children will need to:

*Wear their full sports uniform including school hat 

*Bring enough food and water to last through the Swimming Carnival

*Bring their swimming bag to school with swimmers, sunscreen, towel, goggles etc. Children will change at school.

Online Permission and Swimming Assessment 

*No child will be allowed access to the pool at the Swimming Carnival without a completed evaluation of their swimming ability submitted by his/her Parent/Carer. This will allow the children to go in the corresponding events at the carnival.

Basketball 2023

Thank you to the families who have shown interest in this season of basketball. Listed below are the teams that have been nominated from the Compass consent. By now you should have received an email with a team code. If your child is on a team listed below, and have not received an email from Tamworth Basketball, or you are interested in coaching your child's team, please email me nmcculloch@arm.catholic.edu.au

St Edward's basketball uniforms are available through the Qkr app.

Junior Winter Competitions will run from 22nd Feb to 15th June

Note: * All players must be registered before joining a team.

Fees are to be paid by players when they complete their “member to team” online form.

Comp Fees as follows – Junior Primary School Comp Fees $125

Active Kids Vouchers may be used to pay competition fees online.

Personal Registration Fees are Separate to Competition Fees

If your child is interested in playing OzTag and you haven't already registered, please do so at https://tamworthjuniors.oztag.com.au/ for all relevant information. All registrations are online and our 10yr old teams have codes allocated to them. Games will start next week, Wednesday 8th and teams that have 8 players fully registered by Friday 3rd Feb will be in the draw.

Please use the following specific codes, then use the individual codes for the others. Tamworth OzTag have added a question in the individual nominations: 'what school is the child from', so that they can form St Eds teams if we have enough. Below are specific codes for the under 10s team. If you are in this age group and have already signed up individually, you will be added to this team.
