What movie or novel character do you most identify with?

Batman. He does the right thing even when it is hard.

What one memory do you most treasure?

I am going to cheat and say 3 memories.

The day I met my wife and when my 2 boys were born.

A photo of the last meal I had.

I like to keep my meals light and healthy. I am a creature of habit and like lunches I can get ready quickly in the morning. So my go to meal is a quick tuna salad.

What do you miss most about being a kid?

I don’t miss anything, I still feel like a kid most of the time.

When are you the happiest?

I am happiest when I play Mario Kart at home with my family (even when my kids beat me!)

Sarah Bryant

What characteristic do you most admire in others?

I most admire kindness (and honesty) in others! It costs nothing to give and it makes you feel just as good J

Fill in the blank: If you really knew me, you'd know I’m always…

Talking about new story ideas and daydreaming about all the books I want to write!

What super power would you like to have?

I know this isn’t a very unique one, but I’d love to be able to fly. I think it would be an incredible feeling. It would also save you a lot of money when you wanted to travel and it would take no time at all, so that’s a bonus!

What did you want to be when you were younger?

Growing up, I really wanted to be a vet and an author! While I didn’t end up working with animals, I have two fur babies at home that I adore, and I did complete a Certificate II in Animal Studies and volunteered/did a placement at the RSPCA for a little while, which I found really rewarding. I obviously decided to pursue teaching in the end but I’m still actively writing and I love that I can do both! Teaching and writing are extremely fulfilling.

If you were to tell one person "Thank You" for helping me become the person I am today, who would it be and what did they do?

As an only child, it would have to be my parents. They both shaped me into the person I am today. My mum is my biggest inspiration, also a teacher, and I have always admired how compassionate, selfless, and hardworking she is. My dad nurtured my creativity from a very young age, and I thank him regularly for my love of reading, writing, and music. He always took me to the library (we’d borrow the maximum amount each time), wrote back-and-forth stories with me about haunted houses (my favourite story to write when I was in primary school), and he taught me how to play the guitar. My parents fostered my love of learning and encouraged me to be creative, which are huge components of my identity.
