Debating Eliminations and Finals

Our mighty debaters continue to perform strongly as they move through the elimination rounds. Last Friday, three of our four teams were victorious in their second-round eliminations. The 9A, 10A and 12B teams will now move into the next round for their age level. Our 11Bs performed incredibly well but lost in a very close debate via Zoom against St John Paul II Catholic College.

This week, the 9As and 10As each have their third elimination and 10Bs their first elimination debate. The 10As face Mount St Benedict’s this afternoon via Zoom and the 9As and 10Bs will engage in a face-to-face debate at Bethlehem College on Friday afternoon. A win for any of these teams this week will see them move into quarter finals next term on 22 July, along with the 8Bs, 11As and 12Bs who move directly into the quarters. 

With six teams still in competition, and five of the six year groups represented, the boys are having an incredibly successful season. Congratulations again to all our debaters and coaches on their fabulous work so far!
