Principal's Message

Mother's Day Stall

It was absolutely wonderful to see the parent group who prepared all the items for our Mothers Day stall. Hopefully, this is the start of a group that might work together to help us fundraise for the school on a regular basis.

A huge that you to Alison Smith for going on a "shopping excursion" for us at the last minute to purchase gifts for the stall and  for coordinating the volunteer parents. Also, a huge thank you to the families who very kindly donated gifts to sell at the stall- Very much appreciated to everyone involved.  We managed to raise $920 which will go towards purchasing outdoor recess/lunchtime activities for the children.

Mr Callaghan currently unavailable

You may have noticed Mr Callaghan not around this week and this is because he is participating in a leadership program that involves placement at Leopold Primary School until June 15th. We wish him all the best.

Child safety and wellbeing at Rollins: information for families and the school community

The Victorian Government has announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.

Rollins Primary School has reviewed and updated our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the new standards. These are available to view on our website.

We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.

If you have any suggestions, comments or questions, please contact me (Jenny) on 5278 3022.

Prep Enrolments and Tours

Please , if you have a child who will be attending Rollins in 2023 please notify the office as soon as possible. It is really important that we have definite numbers of zone and sibling enrolments before we start offering places to those not in our zone.

Icy Poles

I think with the onset of rather cold weather we have come to the end of the icy pole sales on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The canteen will still be open on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays for lunch orders and snacks.

Uniform

Congratulations to all parents for their support in providing the correct uniform for their child/children. It is fantastic to see all the correct items being worn by the students. Please remember to check on our school website to ensure you are following the correct items. Just a reminder that netball skirts are not listed as part of the Rollins school uniform. Please purchase the school skorts if required.

As the weather becomes cooler, students may wish to wear a navy blue beanie to keep their head warm.  Beanies with the school logo are available from the school office or through our uniform supplier DCS Uniforms. Cost $10.

NAPLAN

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the recent NAPLAN testing program.

The teachers did a marvelous job preparing the students for this event. Results will be distributed later in the year. It is important that all parents realise that the NAPLAN is only one test on a particular day and may not be as true an indication of your Child's ability as the triangulated data we constantly record throughout the year.
