SAGSE SCHOLARSHIP - LOUISA D’AMBRA (YEAR 12)
Mrs Binnion has already congratulated Louisa for her amazing achievement in receiving the Society for German-Australian scholarship to travel to Germany for ten weeks during her summer holidays. Louisa underwent a highly competitive process to win and it is a reflection of her efforts in studying German throughout her time at McKinnon.
The Languages team would like to congratulate her and wish her Gute Reise.
VCE FRENCH STUDENTS
During the holidays, our VCE French and German students took part in practice oral exams in preparation for the real thing. The languages team wishes them good luck in both the oral and written exams - an opportunity to showcase all their hard work over the years. We also wish them great joy in using their language skills in the future when travelling and when meeting speakers of those languages. Mastery of a language is truly a life skill to be celebrated.
LANGUAGES SOCIETY WAFFLES
The East Campus branch of the Languages Society will be making and selling waffles at lunchtime on Thursday 3 November. Proceeds will go to the charity Living Languages, which supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led language work and projects across Australia.
