Students will still have their morning Zoom check-in with classroom teachers.

Specialist teachers will be available via Zoom session at 10am and throughout the day on Google Classroom to answer questions for Senior students.

Physical Education

During Week 6, Senior students will be participating in AFL Auskick at home sessions run by AFL players. Students will need a ball to complete these activities and a partner at times. An AFL football is preferred but if you don’t have a footy at home, students can use a pair of socks or another soft ball.

Due to the junior students returning to school next week, this weeks junior PE lessons will be scaled back to allow for a more relaxed transition back into school life. The students won't need any equipment they haven't used in past PE lessons.

Indonesian

Selamat pagi semuanya!

Wah, hebat! This week I have really enjoyed seeing not only all the amazing Bahasa Indonesia used by our students, but also by our teachers! I have seen it in the newsletter, heard it in our assembly, and even in class check-ins! I have also heard lots of thoroughly impressive Indonesian from parents, as you support and join in with your children. To you all I say - terima kasih!

Sampai minggu depan,

Bu Marissa Mundy

Selamat Pagi

As our remote learning gradually comes to an end, our students have really cranked up their efforts to bring their all to their learning experiences. The skillful recreations of famous artworks made from laundry was an absolute delight to see. We had some outstanding examples from students who carefully manipulated light, camera angles, props etc.  and brought the eye of a cinematographer to the picture. I have enjoyed getting to know the talents and interests of our students this term and look forward to finding out even more as we head back into the new normal. Sharing the learning with our siblings and parents where possible, has brought many challenges but also opportunities and I applaud your efforts to see redeeming aspects in constraints and restrictions. In maintaining momentum now, I wish for all of us to embrace this moment and to continue to band together rising to the challenge.

Performing Arts

Another wonderful week of creating and performing.  This week we heard the Senior Choir perform ‘Seasons of Love’ in assembly.  I also learned all about the music that inspires the 3/4 students. I watched some amazing 1/2 dancing and felt the beat with the 5/6 cup rhythms. I’m looking forward to another amazing week of performances.

Pupil of the Week

Physical Education:

Junior: Mitchell W, 1/2K

Well done, Mitchell! You were amazing in PE this week, where you demonstrated all of your warm ups and soccer skills with the character strengths of perseverance and zest. Fantastic job!

Senior: Shane H 3/4M

For demonstrating perseverance and zest in PE classes during remote learning. You have shown great improvement in your fitness challenges and good skill development with our ball sport activities. Thank you for being a star student Shane, keep up the great work.

Indonesian:

Junior: Mihir G 1/2E

For confidently singing the Prepositions song with zest and enthusiasm! I am really impressed you also recorded FOUR sentences describing the location of your

pensil and buku! Hebat, Mihir!

Senior: Justine H 5/6C

For going above and beyond in writing sentences describing three tourist destinations. I am so impressed how you used our new vocabulary from the week and created complexity by adding in previous language and connectives. A huge effort, hebat!

Visual Arts:

Junior: Thomas M 1/2 E

Thomas, you created such a fabulous Darth Vader den and placed it right there - in and amongst your chooks, right there in their pen simultaneously offering a fair dinkum chook protector and friend. What a swell effort and great doubling up on purpose. As you travel through the rest of the school year may the force be with you and your ideas be as original and fun as this one. You are doing great. The character strength that most stands out for this task is: Leadership and Humour. Bagus!!

Senior: Coby V 5/6 B

Well, how cool is it when you get to admire and giggle when you look at your student’s work. Coby, your Rene Magritte recreation was so good. You matched all elements of the painting superbly and placed yourself in the picture with comical aplomb. Loved it. The VIA character strengths that most stand out for this task are: humour and creativity. Keep it up. Excellent effort!

Performing Arts:

Junior: George K FH

For clearly and accurately recalling the names of the musical notes. Your love of learning and curiosity to engage and excel with new content is highly commendable. Well done, George!

Senior: Kayden C 3/4G

For creating a well thought through slide on the song ‘Heal the World’. Kayden showed his ability to be reflective and caring as a global citizen. Super work Kayden!
