Mini Vinnies
Last week we had a special commissioning liturgy for our Mini Vinnies members in Year 6. They pledged:
As a member of Mini Vinnies, I promise to make a difference in my world by:
· Caring for, respecting and loving myself.
· Strengthening my friendship with Jesus by praying each day and talking to others about him.
· Caring for others in my school and social community by befriending those who are alone, needy or in trouble.
· Contributing to the happiness of my family by my willing help, respect, consideration, joy and kindness.
· Caring for, appreciating, enjoying and maturing God’s creation, the environment.
· Treating others the way I would like them to treat me.
They are straight into their ‘good works’, planning a COVID Heroes Day to support “Help Ashton Kick Cancer”. We wish them every blessing as they take on this ministry of service in our school community.
Covid Heroes Day
Our recently commissioned Mini Vinnies Team have planned to celebrate the end of term with a dress up day. Our theme will be “COVID Heroes”, celebrating ALL who have played a part in our battle against COVID-19. These COVID heroes might be our wonderful medical staff, emergency services, truck drivers, government, parents (who took on managing online learning and working from home), teachers and students to name but a few. Children are encouraged to dress as one of these heroes on Thursday 2nd July. They are also asked to bring in a gold coin donation. The Mini Vinnies team will forward the money collected to “Help Ashton Kick Cancer”, supporting the Readett family.

Uniform
Students are expected to be in full school uniform whenever they attend school. At the moment students have the option of wearing either Summer or Winter uniform, but it can not be a combination of both. If wearing their Winter uniform, students must have ties on. Winter uniform will be compulsory from June 1. If for any reason your child is out of uniform, please send in a note.
