News from the Deputy Principal

School resumption for the Foundation, Year One and Year Two

students has progressed well today. It was great to see their

excitement and smiling faces upon their return at the gates this

morning. We also continue to welcome those students in Years 3-6

who continue their remote learning onsite. I also take this

opportunity to thank all the families who dropped off and picked up

their children at the correctly designated gates. It has eased the

congestion at the three gate points and has decreased the likelihood

of parents congregating at these points.

There are signs and stickers on the ground promoting social

distancing and advising parents and students what to do when

entering the school grounds.

Please be extra cautious when driving around our school grounds,

ensuring the safety of our school community. Please refrain from

calling your children across the road and instead use the pedestrian

crossing. Also avoid making U-turns in front of the school as this is a

dangerous practice that may have catastrophic results. As a school

community, we need to take care of each other, especially our

precious students, during these hectic times of the day. If you can

remain in your car, please do so. A wave from your car or even

standing outside your car, will allow teachers to safely send students

to you. Students will not be released by teachers after school, until

a parent or carer have been sighted.

Just a reminder that families with their surname A-K will enter and

exit the school via the Endeavour Drive Gate. Families with surnames

L-Z will enter and exit the school via the Mitchell Court Gate and

the before/after school children will enter and exit the school, as

per usual, from the Merinda Park Community Centre Gate. Students

riding their bikes to and from school may also enter and exit via the

Merinda Park Gate, irrespective of their surname.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of this

information, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Michelle

Bruitzman, our principal.
