From the Principal...

Dear Parents and Friends,

It was fantastic to welcome the Foundation to Year Two children back to school this morning. Thank you to all the families for adhering to the new procedures that have been put in place to keep everyone safe, such as A-K families using the Endeavour Drive gate and L-Z families using the Mitchell Court gate. It was a very smooth start. We will continue to have extra staff on duty before and after school to assist students to walk independently into and out of school.

Many of the children shared their stories of what remote learning was like for them. I had to giggle when one little person recounted that learning at home was tough because her home teacher (mum) was so strict and kept making her rewrite her writing because it wasn't neat enough! What a strange time it has been and thankfully we can now begin to get back to a new normal at school, where social distancing and hand washing is continually observed.

The education of a child really is a partnership between home and school. I think this period of remote learning has really highlighted the importance of working together to achieve the common goal of ensuring each child may flourish academically, socially and spiritually so that they may lead independent and successful lives.

Thank you so very much for working alongside us to continue providing an education for your children. The Director - Maria Kirkwood, of the Diocese of Sale, of which St Therese's belongs would also like to thank parents for their support. Please click HERE to watch the Thank you from the Director.

National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

Each year, schools are required to submit data on students with disabilities to the government.

It counts the number of students who receive additional adjustments or ‘help’ at school because of a disability. The NCCD helps governments plan for the needs of students with disabilities.

Consent is not required for this data to be collected.

The following link contains a fact sheet for parents regarding NCCD and the process involved in collecting the data. The information has also been included in four languages (Arabic, Simple Chinese, Vietnamese and Tagalog)

Please check out the 'Remote' Community News page for great learning from across our school! If you would like to share your own remote learning photos of your family, please don't forget to email them to me so I can include them in the newsletter! principal@sttcbourne.catholic.edu.au

Have a happy week,
