A message from Troy

Message from Troy

I would like to start off by saying thank you to the community at Uraidla Primary School. I have really enjoyed being Acting Principal over the past six weeks. It has been a fantastic opportunity to get to know families and work with a number of people I hadn't previously had the chance to. Starting Week 7 Margie returns from leave. I look forward to working with students back in the classroom as well as working with staff around curriculum development.

Gratitude Tree

Our tree has started to grow in the hall. As spring has arrived we are starting to see all positive messages fill our tree with bright yellow and green leaves. We look forward to seeing our positive messages continue to grow.

RAA Road Safety Sessions

In Week 5, the team from RAA came and delivered sessions to all classes in regards to Road Safety. Sessions included information about Stop, Look, Listen Think in Katie's class, riding bikes safely, skills needed when riding on the road and being aware and visible when on the road. Students and staff found all sessions engaging and provided students information about how to be better prepared when using our roads.

Book Week Parade

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Book Week parade last Friday. It was great to see so many students dressed up and some amazing costumes! Here are some images to try and best capture this wonderful event.

Book Week Activities

As part of Book Week there was an abundance of activities throughout the week. For those of you who visited the school you may have noticed the library transformed. Students have loved being in there during breaks, hence why we are leaving the set up for a few more weeks. There were treasure hunts, quizzes and books galore throughout the week. A big thank you to Di and Sallie for preparing lots of the activities and displays for the week. To finish the week we have groups set up and activities for different short listed books. It was great to see so much engagement and a real love of reading.

Uraidla Grounds

Some people may have noticed some work being done around the yards. Our wonderful grounds man Darren has been working hard to build seating around our trees on the oval. They are looking fantastic! We can't wait for these to be completed as a spot for students to sit during breaks and parents to socialise at pick up times.
