Debutante Ball

The long awaited Beaufort Debutante Ball was held at the Beaufort Shire Hall on the 26th August. The Deb's and their partners all began training in July last year but due to the unpredictability of COVID and the restrictions placed on holding large events, the future remained unknown for everyone. Luckily for us, we got the go-ahead for the Deb in May this year and we were back training by July. Our wonderful dance instructor, Shelly Ross, made every minute enjoyable and something to look forward to each Sunday night.

Everything came together perfectly, with the evening beginning with the presentation of the Debs and their partners, followed by four dances; the Cha Cha, the Merengue, the Modern Waltz and the Jive. We concluded the night with some lovely refreshments followed by a DJ, who had everyone back on the dancefloor.

Our night was an all-round success, thanks to the unwavering support and organisation of Angela Gerrard and the Parents and Friends Association. We would also like to express our thanks to the office staff for coordinating all the ticketing, Jackie Kerr for being our Compere on the night, our chaperones, Mr. McClure and Ms. Blackburn, Miss Conroy for the wonderful photos and finally, Shelly Ross for her persistence and patience during all our training sessions.

On behalf of everyone who participated, thank you for all the effort that went into making this years Deb such a hit. Special thanks to Angela Gerrard for her commitment and dedication to organising the Beaufort Secondary College Deb Balls over the past eleven years. Our night was truly unforgettable!
