BOOK WEEK was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!

THANK YOU for your tremendous support in making our return to Book Week so successful! On Monday our school was taken over by book characters.  We paraded in style with the music setting the tone for a fun, upbeat week of celebration!

Carp Productions were a new addition to our school incursion program and they were a huge hit with the Foundation to Year 4 students.  It was priceless to see the huge smiles and hear the raucous laughter coming from these book themed shows.  Live theatre was something we have not been able to expose our children to for such a long time, so it was wonderful to offer this experience to nourish their imaginations!

Past student and now acclaimed children's author, Danielle Binks, inspired our Year 5 and 6 students in her writers workshop.  They enjoyed hearing about her writing inspirations from life experiences and the secrets to becoming an author.  By the end of the sessions our students were in silence, writing pages of their own creative stories.  This inspired our Short Story Writing Competition.  Last Friday we announced the winner was Mila K 5/12. We will have all the stories on display in the Library from next week.

BOOK FAIR

We enjoyed offering our Book Fair all week in the Library.  Students came along and browsed the huge range of books on offer and created wish lists.  In total we sold an astounding $9,000 worth of books.  Our school receive a substantial amount of reward credit to enable us to purchase more new books for our Library shelves.  Thank you for your incredible support and for putting more books in young readers hands!
