Book Week Character Parade

Book Parade Day

Staff and students went to extraordinary lengths to dress up as their favourite book character.  Our staff chose Alice In Wonderland and they all got into the spirit of their chosen character.  The day was filled with activities and treats.  The students were broken up into groups to experience all that Wonderland had on offer.

It was great to see the children and the young at heart having fun, and what a fabulous way it was to end last week.

Coco has been in Grade 4/5 with Kathryn

In Grade 4/5 they have been exploring money concepts in Maths and have been busy creating their own shops.  This week, Coco has been listening to students develop their ideas for their shops and watching them practise exchanging money.

Science Week Activities

With all rivers leading to the sea, this week, students in the upper years worked in teams to identify how we can make difference right here in Mount Beauty.  By being more aware of our own local water systems and coming up with ideas about how we could help make a difference, each team created a poster to represent their idea.

It has also been great to see some of our students taking action by going around the school and picking up rubbish.  Their efforts are really appreciated as they not only keep rubbish out of our waterways, but also keep our school looking great!

In 5/6A, students explored the concepts of acids and bases, using red cabbage juice as a pH indicator.

Snowsports with Grades 5 and 6

Last Thursday was our first of 3 sessions up at Falls Creek undertaking lessons in downhill skiing and snowboarding.  All students have done wonderfully well under ordinary conditions, but when you're having fun with friends that doesn't matter.
