Principal's Message

On Monday and Tuesday we celebrate the feasts of All Saints and All Souls Day. Saints tell us what matters most in life is not what we earn or own, not the job we have or the people we know.

In the readings for All Saints Day we are reminded of the Beatitudes in the Gospel. Jesus gave us these beatitudes at the Sermon on the Mount. These beatitudes are a beautiful reminder of what we can become, if we trust and believe. Jesus said:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Return to School

Excitement has been in the air this week as we welcomed back our students in Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and celebrating that we are all back together again. Congratulations to our students, teachers and parents - you have done a great job transitioning back to school this week. It has been absolutely wonderful reconnecting with the students and at the same time witnessing how resilient they have been after such a turbulent and challenging four months.

Parents are requested to continue communicating with the school via email or phone call rather than calling into the office - unless absolutely necessary.

All visitors and parents MUST QR Code Scan in, show the check in to Miss Elyse on entry to the office and wear a mask if at all within the school grounds.

Recess & Lunch Times

We have reduced the recess break to from 40 to 30 minutes during the level 3 return to school to maximise learning time.

Recess 11:00-11:30 (30 minutes)Lunch 1:30-2:10 (40 minutes)

World Teachers' Day 2021

On Friday 29 October, we say a big thank you to teachers and celebrated the bright future of teaching. At Galilee we are blessed each and every day to have staff that are dedicated to and passionate about their vocation of teaching your children. Yes teaching is a privileged and rewarding vocation - just ask us!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to the teachers at Galilee. Their professionalism, patience, resilience and hard working attitude make us a very lucky community.

During remote learning they went above and beyond to still ‘teach’ the students the best way they could. They made contact with families and continued to support all of the children in their class, remotely.

I hope the children take the opportunity to show their appreciation for their teachers on Friday by bringing their best smiles to school.

Regards

Anna Novak
