Visual Arts

The senior students in Visual Arts have put in a tremendous effort to refine their drawing skills and improve their understanding of modern art movements. The Year 11s have been exploring different ways to express their ideas through a variety of printmaking techniques, styles, mediums and subject matter.

The Year 11 Art class have experienced the Haring/Basquiat exhibition at the NGV and enjoyed learning about the artists’ personal lives that were reflected in the artworks. They gained first-hand experience of the street art scene in New York in the 1980s.

On 12 March, many VCE girls took advantage of the opportunity to create at the Open Evening and worked into the evening developing ideas in their folios. Their ideas are looking really exciting.

Here are a few photos of still life drawings from the first few weeks of term, the excursion to the NGV and some of the students enjoying the Art room at the recent Open Evening.
