Compass Calendar of Events

We are officially a quarter of the way through Term 4.  Term 4 is 11.5 weeks long.  Yes... you heard that right.  It is a long term and thus it needs everyone to keep level headed and pace themselves.  Historically, Term 4 can elicit both excitement for the end of the year and the celebrations associated but also some trepidation and nerves as to the uncertainty ahead.  It is then so crucial that we take a pause, and consider our words, actions and behaviours.  Please take a moment to take stock of what it means to be a Cranny South student, parent, family and staff member.  We are an amazing group of individuals and as a collective we represent a Murrup Spirit that is impressive and a delight to lead.

Term 4 is a marathon, not a sprint.

We are currently haing a 'blitz' on two areas of need in the school:

  • Bathroom behaviour
  • Uniform

Please refer to the following posters at home to support the school approach

A concerned community member has posted on social media that CSPS students who ride their bikes home, are displaying dangerous behaviours.  The area of concern is Station Creek Way across Green mist and Adriana. Students are not obeying road rules and checking for traffic.  This has the potential to be catastrophic.  Can families please address with their children.

CSPS has been successful in obtaining an Out of School Care Holiday Program Grant.  It is pleasing to announce that TheirCare will commence a School Holiday Program on CSPS premises in January 2024.  Please refer to TheirCare for specific information.

Middle East Conflict

Many in our school community are affected by the devastating events in the Middle East.

All of us are upset and disturbed by the awful events depicted in media footage and images.

This time is particularly distressing for staff, students, families and carers who have family and friends in Israel and Gaza.

We are also aware that students of diverse backgrounds, including Jewish and Muslim students, may be significantly affected by public events, mainstream media coverage and social media at this time.

Please be assured that staff are aware of the extreme emotional toll on many in our community at this time. But please also feel free to get in contact with any of the staff at our school if you would like to ensure we are aware of what your child is going through at this time.

Our staff will continue doing all they can to support all our students, and support is also available for our staff.

I also want to assure you that the department is monitoring the situation from a school security perspective, and have advised there is no further action we need to take at this stage.

It is possible that extremely distressing scenes from the conflict may be posted online in coming days. Please ensure your children are aware of where they can find support in the event they come across such images.
