IEC supports Afghani Refugees
ASC's Intensive Centre (IEC) and EAL/D students held a bake sale after hearing about the struggles of Afghani refugees who are newly arriving in Australia. They got to work baking numerous cakes, biscuits and slices; to create a wide selection delectable goodies for sale during recess on the Thursday of Week 10.
The $442.75 raised has been forwarded to SSI to purchase gift cards for Afghani refugees resettling in Australia. Our IEC students are Ezidi people from Northern Iraq who have also recently arrived in Australia, and were very happy to be able to support other students from refugee backgrounds.
