Game Changer Challenge

This is the 4th year in a row that we have had teams make it to the Ultimate Finals in the Game Changer Challenge! This year, in fact, two out of the 10 teams selected from the initial 396 team submissions across NSW are from Armidale Secondary College!! It is a marvellous reflection of the talent, creativity, and collaboration demonstrated by ASC students.

Initially, eight ASC teams signed up for this year's challenge: 'Humans have unlimited needs, but the planet has limited capacity to satisfy them'. Teams were required choose to either create a solution or advocate for change; and then work together to develop their projects which were submitted back in Term 2. 

In early November, four our teams were selected to competed in the on-line Rural North & West regional heat.  A great video of the day was prepared by Skye Vaughan (Year 8) and posted on our ASC Facebook page.

Congratulations to E.A.T - our Year 7 Advocate Division team comprising of Alma Kanety, Adrika Bagchi, Emelia Kelly, Rachel Gooley, and Nyla Chemane - who won on the day to make it through to the Grand Final! 

Congratulations also to Wasted Potential - our Year 9 Create Division team comprised of Anna Gooley, Brooke Stainton, Nathan Smith, Matilda Reynolds and Lilly Maxwell - who subsequently received a wild-card entry after judges were very impressed by their work in the earlier heats. 

We wish our two ASC teams all the best as they competing in this year's Ultimate Game Changer Ultimate Final over two days during the final week of school. The event will kick off with students getting the opportunity to interview Craig Reucassel (creator of ABC TV'S War on Waste) about sustainability in relation to this year's challenge. 

Winners will be announced for each of the division this Wednesday after teams have pitched their final solution. Keep an eye out on our social media posts for the final results!
