NAIDOC Celebrations

NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) celebrations were held on Friday, 10 December. During the day we recognised the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including those students at our school.

A whole-school NAIDOC Assembly was held outdoors in the Plaza. The agenda included a Welcome to Country, flag raising and award presentation. Our Bangarra dance group delivered a fantastic performance, and Jillari Faulkner (Year 7) presented a powerful solo.

At recess, the cutting of our  NAIDOC cake had everyone lining up for a slice! Special friendships and fellowship were enjoyed during the lunchtime sausage-sizzle.

Thank you to our Aboriginal Education team for all your work to support our school and students throughout the year.
