MULTICULTURAL WEEK

Bringing the Community Together

Recently we had a special visit from an Indian food truck to help celebrate Multicultural week at Kew High.

The food truck was extremely popular as I would say more than half of the school lined up to get a taste of their food. Having this sort of celebration at Kew really brings the community together.

I had the opportunity to interview one of the girls who lined up for majority of her lunch to get a taste of this divine culture. Ruby Berman was very enthusiastic about different cultures. I asked her did she feel as if the whole school really enjoyed Multicultural week and especially that day? “Yes I think it was a success and I even saw teachers getting involved, loving the food and the environment”.

Another event that Multicultural week had was the fashion parade that was shown at the general assembly. We were able to see traditional clothes from all around the world presented by students.

As a student from Kew High I would have to say that this Multicultural week has definitely been my favourite and most memorable.

Our international school exchange program was taking place at the same time as Multicultural week. This meant we had students from our sister school in Japan in our school, having an exciting Kew High School student experience, and sharing some of their cultural activies too.
