READING FOR FUN

'Reading for pleasure is the most important indicator of the future success of a child.'

Reading the News

As part of National Literacy Week 29 August – 4 September here at Kew High School our focus was to encourage every student and every teacher to read for fun in their classroom. A site was created in Compass-Student Hub entitled 'Reading for Fun', where a variety of websites and resources became available to students. Varied and engaging reading material was shared, focused on connecting to both course content and student interest. Students, and staff, read the news online, read books in the garden, read each other’s writing and discussed their favourite books in Bookclub, to name a few of the activities. We encourage all to continue to read for fun. What are you going to read today?
