From the City of Glen Eira,

Moving up Webinars.

Youth Services Moving Up is a Grade Six to Year Seven transition program offered to all grade six students attending schools in Glen Eira. This year, Youth Services has been delivering this program virtually.

To ensure that all students and parents/carers have the opportunity to ask the questions they have relating to their transition to Secondary School, Youth Services is running two FREE webinars:

At the Students only Webinar that will be held next week, Grade Sixes will have the opportunity to hear from past Year Seven Students, wellbeing staff members from a local secondary school, a Year 7 Coordinator and Youth Development Officers. There will also be a question and answer session to conclude the webinar. All attendees will also go in the running to win one of three $30 gift vouchers!

At the Parent Webinar, attendees will hear from key figures in students’ transition to secondary school (e.g. school counsellors and Year 7 Coordinators) and will also hear from the Youth Services team about some practical tips for the transition.

These webinars are intended to calm student and parent nerves relating to this time by providing practical tips, anecdotal experiences and insights into what Secondary School is really like.
