December 2021

• Friday 3rd - 2022 Class lists to families.
• Friday 3rd - Year 12 Graduation.
• Wednesday 8th - Year 6 Graduation.
• Thursday 9th - Last day for students in their 2021 classrooms.
• Friday 10th - Curriculum day - No students required at school.
• Monday 13th to Friday 17th - Transition week - students in 2022 classrooms.
• Friday 17th - Last day of Term 2021 - students finish at 1pm.

Hayfever Season!

As Hayfever season is upon us, we are finding that we have many students exhibiting these symptoms which could also be masked as symptoms of COVID19. As per the current health guidelines, we do have to send any student home when these symptoms present and they do need a negative covid test or doctors clearance to return. If your child is diagnosed with hayfever this will help us understand the symptoms better. Please see enclosed medical alert report your doctor can fill out if your child is diagnosed with hayfever. 

2021 School fees (Essential Learning Items)

Just a friendly reminder that the 2021 school fees can still be paid at reception via EFTpos or by paying on the QKR app. Thank you to all those families who have paid their school fees.

Student Bus Transport

Due to the high volume of traffic currently on the roads, Mee’s buses can be running up to 10 minutes late. Please call Mee’s on 9459 3000 and they will be able to provide an indication of bus times.

Change of residential address

A reminder to parents if you are planning to move residence please contact Frances Hansen at transport@jacanaschoolforautism.vic.edu.au or call the school 9309 6258 and request to speak to Farances. This will enable the updating of your transport requirements including a change of bus stop &/or bus if needed PRIOR to your move. This will assist you to prepare your child & request assistance from the school if needed to help with the transition.

DET bus access in 2022

Letters have been sent to all parents of students who access the DET Mee’s bus service to ascertain their students travel requirements for 2022. When the letter arrives please complete the slip & return to JSA via your child’s communication book or take a photo & email to transport@jacanaschoolforautism.vic.edu.au. This information will allow Mee’s to plan for 2022 & confirmation letters of bus access details to be sent home prior to the commencement of the 2022 school year.
