Sports Involvement in 2022
As expressed in previous newsletters we are opening up managers and trainers’ positions to students who may not be able to participate in playing but would like to have a connection with a team in any sport. If this is of interest to you please complete the attached form with your details. Please note these are not paid positions.
Additionally, we require the assistance of staff, parents, old boys and friends of the College to take on the many duties needed to ensure that every student can participate and enjoy all the benefits that playing sport provides as well as ensuring the ongoing growth and development of our sports program across all areas.
Marist College Ashgrove’s success in sport is dependent upon many factors, one being the generosity of members within our community to give of their time and efforts to serve our students by taking on specific roles. These roles include; coach, manager, referee, umpire, scorer etc. If you can help in any way, could you please complete the nomination form via the link below as soon as possible.
All forms received will be compiled into a database. Before each season commences the respective Coordinator or a member of the Sports Office will contact those who have expressed an interest to assist. A final confirmation of commitment will be asked, and further details will be given.
I thank all those who were able to assist throughout 2021 and I invite those who would like to assist in 2022 to become involved for the benefit of our students and the College.

Individual Achievements
We wish William Easter to best of luck when he represents Met North in the U12 State Cricket Championships at Bundaberg from Monday 15 November - Friday 19 November. Well done Will on your selection in this representative team.
Congratulations to Will and Toby Banner who were selected in the Met North School Sport Triathlon 11-19 years team to compete at the Queensland School Sport Championships held in February next year. Toby will join the College next year and Will is a current Year 7 student.
Last weekend Joshua Gannon in Year 7 competed in the state indoor skydiving competition and came away with a gold medal in a 4 way formation discipline (also the youngest competitor and flying against adults) and silver in the junior freestyle competition. Although not recognised as a mainstream sport it is a great achievement. Josh has been indoor skydiving for the last 4 years, having competed in local and national events. Josh predominantly competes against adults, many of which also compete in outdoor skydiving. He was also awarded as an indoor skydiving ambassador in 2019.

Training schedule Week 6 and Week 7
Week 6 schedule as published on the app. Unfortunately, due to the gym being used for the entire week, there will be no training during Week 7. I know this is a less than ideal scenario, but there is nothing we can do about it. It is what it is…
