Visual Arts & Design and Technology Exhibition

The combined Visual Art & Design and Technology Exhibition extravaganza opening night on Thursday, 11 November has been a few years in the making but proved to be a fantastic event! The quality work on display demonstrated the vast array of skills and knowledge the boys have acquired throughout the year. The Design and Technology and Visual Art staff were extremely proud to be part of such an enjoyable evening.

Congratulations to all the boys who had work selected for this event, and to those who received an award. A special mention should be made for Year 12 student Tom Devine, whose beautiful blue resin filled Hall Table won the ‘People’s Choice Award’. We look forward to this becoming an annual event, showcasing students creativity and excellence.

Step-A-Thon

With our term focus being ‘Service to Others’ and as part of the Year 7 Pastoral Care Program, the Year 7 cohort took part in a Charity Step-a-thon on Friday, 12th November to raise funds for ‘Brother Ollie’s Wheelchairs for Kids.’ This is a voluntary organisation that raises funds to develop and build children’s rough terrain, completely adjustable wheelchairs with full support. They donate these wheelchairs and ensure that they are properly fitted to needy, disabled children in lesser resourced countries.

The boys did an amazing job of climbing the steps and raising money for such a great cause!

Br Ollie Wheelchair for Kids

It was with great pleasure that Trinity College Year 7s welcomed Br Ollie Pickett from Wheelchairs for Kids to address them at their assembly this week. Br Ollie spoke to the boys about what will happen to the money they raise at their upcoming Step-A-Thon. Every $200 will see the manufacture of a child's wheelchair which will be sent overseas.

The College also congratulate Br Olly and his team of volunteers on the production of the 50,000th wheelchair and the opening of the new Wheelchairs for Kids factory in Wangara! Opened by Premier Mark McGowan with 570 invited guests, the College was represented by Mr Tony Maxfield and Mr Barry McKenna.

Congratulations Br Ollie on this amazing achievement over 22 years!
