New Student Orientation Morning

The New Student Orientation Morning was very successful thanks to several people who assisted on the day. The students in Year 6 who led tours did an excellent job, as did the boys in Years 4 and 5 who were buddies for the new students. Thank you to the Year 4 parents and Mrs Melanie Day and Mrs Cherie Murdoch from the College Auxiliary who helped with the serving of morning tea. Thank you to Mr Reuben Brennan who ran the Orientation, Mrs Ella Spencer who did a lot of the preparation, and all who assisted to make the morning a very positive experience for our new families to the College.

Year 7 Orientation Day

The Year 7 Orientation Day takes place on Monday 16 November, commencing at 8.30am. Students are to meet in Centenary Park and need to wear their sports uniform with a hat. They are also required to bring a packed lunch & recess, water bottle and swimming gear.

The Parent Information Evening commences at 6.30pm in the Sports Centre. Further information regarding both these events was sent home by mail a couple of weeks ago.

Food and Fibre Production

As part of the food and fibre production unit this term, Year 6 White boys had to plant and grow spices and vegetables from scratch. They started off researching what ingredients they would like to grow and then towards the end of the unit they got to use them for cooking pizza. Thank you to Ms Neveldsen for assisting, the boys had a fantastic time!

Prefects Corner

By Harrison Day and Henry Sholz

This week was another busy one for the boys. It all started on Monday afternoon where the whole school started to practice our song in preparation of Presentation Night.

Tuesday was normal but Wednesday was very busy. We had our sports training preparing us for our games and the Year 5’s had their first round of Prefect speeches.

Thursday was also very busy with all the classes observing a one-minute silence for Remembrance Day. Then all the 5’s and 6’s played their weekly fixture against Wesley. The boys all tried their hardest no matter what sport or grade they were in.

At night all the parent helpers had their Sundowner which I’m sure was very fun for them. Also, that night there was the art exhibition. Mr Lamborn put up all the work so a special thanks to him.

On Friday we had the new student Orientation Day for all the new boys. The current boys showed them around the school and also answered tricky questions given by both parents and students. In the afternoon, Year 6 Green had their assembly. It was a very good assembly put on by the boys, Miss Turco and Mr Walley. A big thankyou to Mr Walley who has spent the last three weeks in the Junior School.
