Principal Report

Oatlands from My Point of View
Matthew Kenny – Assistant Principal
I hope that you and all our Oatlands families are as well as can be, given the current landscape of our lives. The return of all students back to school at the same time has been a huge positive for our community and it has been a largely successful transition. While we may have overcome the lockdown challenge for the time being, isolation periods and remote learning is still happening for some of our students. I wish you all the best and want you to know that it doesn’t matter if you are at school or at home, you are always part of the Oatlands Family.
The end of the year is coming very fast, and we have a few highlights to potentially and hopefully look forward to. One that I know many students are really looking forward to is our dance production. All grades have begun learning and rehearsing their dances, which is great to see, and I can’t wait to see the finished products later this term. All grades will hold end of year celebrations and class parties in the final weeks and our Grade 6 students will be enjoying a range of end of year activities to celebrate the end of their primary schooling culminating with their graduation ceremony.
Another exciting happening is that we have been able to begin our Leap into Learning program for our 2022 Prep students. This week it has been wonderful to see groups of kinder kids coming to Oatlands to participate in short sessions. We welcome the new group of students and their families.
I am very optimistic that the final weeks of the school year will be positive ones and like always the Oatlands community will continue to band together and support each other. All the very best to everyone and I will see you around the school.
