Healthcare Information for All (HIFA) and WHO supported Health Services Learning Hub (HLH), have launched their Third Thematic Discussion focused on maintaining essential health services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Maintaining essential health services during the pandemic: What have we learned?
The discussion started on 15th November and will continue through to 19th December. All are welcome to join the discussion through the HIFA forums.
UK G7-WHO Event "Patient Safety: from Vision to Reality"
Building on the global momentum on patient safety in recent years, the UK Government are inviting all with an interest in patient safety to attend a high-level event, co-sponsored by the World Health Organization, on Monday 22 November (13:00-16:00 hours, London, UK).
They have convened the event to allow representatives from other G7 nations, the devolved administrations for the UK, WHO, patient safety advocates and system partners to demonstrate the continued importance of patient safety as an urgent global endeavour.
The event will see participants sharing their expertise, wisdom and experience to improve patient safety worldwide, through continued political momentum, collaboration among nations, sectors, and industries and support for strategic initiatives (such as the UK and WHO-led Global Patient Safety Collaborative) in order to eliminate avoidable harm in healthcare.
WHO Western Pacific Innovation Challenge
The World Health Organization in the Western Pacific has launched the first WHO Western Pacific Innovation Challenge: Innovation for the Future of Public Health. The Innovation Challenge is calling for innovators to submit their solutions to better the health and well-being of people in the Western Pacific Region.
30 finalists will be invited to present their solutions to the WHO WPRO Member States and other stakeholders at the WHO Western Pacific Innovation Forum early next year. They will also be invited to submit Viewpoint (peer review articles) to The Lancet Regional Health- Western Pacific.
The Innovation Challenge is open to all public health innovators from any of WHO’s Member States, but especially those investing in the countries and areas of the Western Pacific Region, or those willing to explore opportunities there.
The closing date for submissions is 30th November.
