IFIC Certificate in Principles of Integrated Care

The International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) and Munster Technological University (MTU), Ireland have developed a Certificate in the Principles of Integrated Care Special Purpose Award Level 9

The course is designed as a foundation to integrated care and seeks to promote a common understanding and language around the key pillars of integrated care. The programme should be of interest to anyone who is involved in the development or delivery of integrated care irrespective of the care setting.

The development and delivery of the programme with IFIC has resulted in a rich mix of international experts in the field of integrated care (as well as some familiar names in Ireland!). The module is designed to be student-friendly with discrete learning bundles on each learning outcome which are designed to be accessed at the students own time and pace.

The Certificate in Principles of Integrated Care is a 15 credit, level 9 Special Purpose Award involving a single module delivered online over one semester (12 weeks). The programme is a collaborative development between Munster Technological University (MTU) and the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC). The aim of the programme is to critically explore the key pillars of integrated care (principles) in order to engage with the concept from an individual, community, organisational and international perspective. The programme is designed to be inclusive of a cross-sectoral mix of professionals working in public and NGO services that interact with people who have longitudinal and complex care needs.

The programme is delivered fully online to facilitate interested learners to engage in this unique and specialist programme which reflects contemporary health and social care policy nationally and internationally. The programme is structured in a manner that will allow practitioners to engage in continued professional development at their own pace and is flexible around their work schedule. The programme involves a learning bundle that includes a combination of directed study material, recorded lectures and live webinars facilitated by national and international experts in the area of integrated care. The first cohort begins in January 2022 and enrolment must take place before Friday, 10 December.
