Principal's Report

Brentwood and Ono Exchange Program

In August of this year, Brentwood families generously hosted students from Ono Senior High School in Japan. Once again this proved to be a wonderful experience for our students and their families. The Ono group and the host students were involved in a wide range of social, educational and cultural experiences which were both fun and valuable learning experiences.

"The Japanese exchange was an opportunity to open our home and hearts to a Japanese student and it was truly an enriching experience. It was an amazing experience to immerse ourselves in the rich tapestry of Japanese culture. We were able to create bonds that form beyond language barriers, connect through shared experiences and create everlasting friendships. These cherished experiences and memories that we’ve forged with our Ono friends have become treasures that will last a lifetime."

Next year it is our turn to travel to Japan! In September 2024, we look forward to sending a group of students from Japanese classes in Years 11 and 10 (and possibly Year 9 students if places are available) to Ono Senior High School to participate in this Sister-School Exchange Program. Information and an Expression of Interest form have been emailed to families of all current Year 10, 9 and 8 Japanese students. Please send your replies or any queries to discoverjapan@ms.brentwood.vic.edu.au  or talk to Angela Pollock, Japanese Exchange Co-ordinator.
