 School Closure Day- Wednesday 

On Wednesday the staff at St. John’s will be participating in a whole day of professional development in the area of Mathematics. The key focus on the day will be implementation of our Launch, Explore, Summarise Framework that we use to engage our students in the rich learning tasks and to help them become creative thinkers and problem solvers. Staff will also increase their understanding of what a challenging learning environment in the Mathematics classroom looks like and how we can support your children to fully grasp new concepts, while embedding their understanding of all topics and processes.

I have attached a document with a number of at-home games, activities and vocabulary that you can use with your children to help develop their maths skills. The activities are research based and it helps you to not only develop their understanding of maths concepts, but also shows them how much maths there actually is in our everyday lives.
