Principal's Message
Mr Cameron Jones
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a fantastic first week back at school for term 3. The students are back working hard and eager to build on and improve on their semester 1 efforts. Term 3 is a time where we have numerous extra curricula activities, excursions and camps and I know that the students are looking forward to participating fully in the range of different opportunities that will be made available to them this term. Last Tuesday, I sent out an interim newsletter with some important information and dates. This newsletter will include some of that information plus more so please read it carefully. I hope to see you next Monday at our Education Week open day.
Education week
We will be celebrating Education Week next Monday, 31st July (week 3). The theme for Education Week this year is 175 years of public education in NSW and focuses on learning from our past, celebrating our achievements and embracing the future with confidence.
We warmly invite all parents and guardians to join us in celebrating the achievements of our students and the invaluable work of our teachers. The plan for the day is below:
Time | Event | Description |
8.30-9.15am | Community breakfast | Please join us for a bbq breakfast. There will also be a coffee van. The breakfast will only be for parents and carers and not students. There will be no cost.
|
9.15-10.00am | Open classrooms | Each classroom will have interactive activities set up for you to join in with your children. Explore the learning together and have your child show you around their classroom.
|
10-10.45am | Education Week Assembly | Please join us for our Education Week assembly on the basketball court. As part of the assembly, we will be having special awards and performances.
|
10.45-11.25am | Picnic recess | Enjoy recess with your child, maybe see if you can beat them at handball. There will also be other performances happening at recess for you to enjoy.

NAPLAN – Year 3 and Year 5
It is expected that we will soon receive the individual student reports for our Year 3 and Year 5 students who completed NAPLAN this year. Once we have received these, we will send them home. From 2023, the Individual student report will look different to previous years. One significant change is that NAPLAN results are now reported against proficiency standards, with student achievement shown against 4 levels of proficiency: Exceeding, Strong, Developing and Needs additional support. There is a standard for each assessment area at each year level. The NAPLAN measurement scale and time series have also been reset. For more information see the individual student report brochure for parents and carers. The brochure is available in other languages on the NAPLAN results and reports website.
Newsletter dates
Our full school newsletter will come out on the following dates:
Kindy enrolment 2024
We have our first transition to Kindergarten sessions coming up this term. If you have a child starting school this year, please click on the link below to complete the enrolment process.

I would also appreciate you passing this on to other people outside our school community you know who will be coming to Roselea in 2024. For a successful transition to school, these sessions are vital so it would be great if everyone who is coming in 2024 is able to attend.
Parent to parent communication
We are incredibly fortunate to have such wonderfully behaved students here at Roselea Public School. Occasionally, there may be incidents that happen in the playground or in the classroom. As we start term 3, may I please remind you that any questions or concerns about incidents should be directed to the school and not to other parents. This allows us to properly investigate and educate as required.
Assembly schedule
Please see our assembly schedule below for this term. Each assembly will be at 2.30pm on a Thursday unless indicated differently:
